Ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy- UGFS

SKLEROZACIJA VENA PJENOM - UGFS

Vein  sclerosis (UGFS method of vein treatment) is based on the injection of foam into the affected vein under ultrasound control resulting in a vein closure.

What is the most acceptable method of treating your vein on your feet? If we want to remove the enlarged veins from the legs in the most obnoxious and fastest and most effective way, it is definitely the first UGFS method of ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy (UGFS). Unlike all other methods of treatment of the vein, no anesthesia is used in foam sclerosis, and the procedure lasts only 10-15 minutes.

The rate of success both short-term and long-term is similar to that of surgical treatment but is somewhat lower than in laser or radio frequency endovascular vein treatment (as demonstrated by meta-analysis of 119 studies that analyzed the success of individual methods in the treatment of the vein, published in Journal of vascular surgery, 2010).

How much is the vein  sclerosis affirmed in the world? The affirmation of UGFS procedure is best demonstrated by the fact that many of the world's most eminent vascular surgeons such as John Bergan of the United States, Philip Coleridge Smith from Great Britain and Juan Cabrer of Spain have long since completely rejected the classic surgical approach and turned to sclerosis only foam. Vaginal sclerosis is a real hit in America and Western Europe, and back in the years to come, and in Southeast Europe.

How do we  perform vein  foam sclerosation – UGFS?

The UGFS method is based on the injection of chemical substances - foam into the affected vein using a thin needle under ultrasonography. The foam with its chemical properties cuts the wall of the affected vein inside, leading to scarring and closing the veins and redirecting the bloodstream to the surrounding healthy veins. The closed vein will be cleaved from the body through which week or month (picture 2).
