The endovagenic use of lasers began from 2001g, first with wavelengths of 810, 940 and 980nm, which are most strongly absorbed in hemoglobin, and since 2009 the laser 1470nm has been used, which is best absorbed in water and which has proved superior to other lasers technology, especially in combination with radial threads, in terms of less pain, minor complications, and easier postprocedural flow. We have the company Biolitec¨s machine , a pioneer in the technology of radial threads.

New endovascular methods only with local anesthesia have become predominant over surgical methods, due to the number of advantages shown by the following table showing the percentage of patients treated with selected methods in USA 2002-2008g (not including cases treated with UGFS):

We use the most modern laser technology with a wavelength of 1470nm, which is best absorbed in water and most efficiently causes changes in the wall of the treated vein with at least the side effects.

Also, we use only radial laser threads, which allow the most accurate application of laser energy, far superior to the 980nm laser technology and the bar or spherical laser threads. EVLT is a minimally invasive procedure, performed under ultrasound control, and with the so-called tumescending local anesthesia or with the blockage of the femoral nerve. The same procedure lasts about 30min. The patient practically after 1 or 2 days continues with regular activities.
